Here are a few very fairly common words that used, especially in publications. They usually have a specific very meaning, and used in the same way. Some of them, you could even call 'buzz' words. Look out for them in the future, they will be an aid to speaking and writing

ubiquitous

This word basically means 'present everywhere' It's often not used to mean literally everywhere. It's popularly used to describe a product, or a television personality that appears so frequently that you almost can't get away from them or it. You know the kind I'm meaning, the TV presenters who are on a show, and then you flick the channel, and there on another channel, you flick again and they're advertising furniture. It also goes for those songs which appear, often as a result of a movie tie in, that are so popular that, well for a time they become unpopular, you get so sick of them. Don't misunderstand me thought 'ubiquitous' isn't itself a negative word.

definitive

Ah, 'definitive'. Where would people that write music reviews be without this little gem?. Although its basic meaning is rather self-evident - its used of things that define something - its not normally used to describe a word or a set of regulations. Most commonly its used for a collection of music that is meant to 'define' a specific genre. For example '80s Hip Hop Beats is the definitive collection of Old School Hip Hop Anthems.

quintessential

Also another favorite of music reviewer although equally popularly used to describe people. I means that they embody the essential qualities of something, or they represent something
